Her unique aesthetics arise from experimenting with materials like resin, silicon, fabrics, and “poetic leftovers,” embracing both accidents and accomplishments to yield enchanting results and preserve traces of touch. Caterina lives and works in Berlin.

“This piece emerged from a nostalgic moment, where "saudade" moved me to create forms of things that are part of the intimate repertoire of my memory, already somewhat distant. "Saudade," a Portuguese word, describes a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing for something or someone that one cares for and which is absent. The summer chair of my great-great-grandfather, kept as a relic in our treasure-filled basement. The work has two textures: the red part is smooth, while the lines are intertwined over a rustic cotton texture. Debris of tender memories, thus eternalized *in silicone.”
